The Board is considering adding another field at Halfway to our schedule and not use the lower field at City Park. This is because we can’t get volunteers to maintain the fields during the season. The addition of Field “C” will cost us another $250.00 for the year. And since this field does not have lights we will not be able to use it during the month of August, with a start time of 6:30pm. We may move games to 6:00.

Good. And raising fees should be no problem. Virginia is charging $120-$140 per player or $940 per team registration.

Perhaps with pro umpires we would attract more players who don't want to play now due to all the bitching and moaning.

Note: I played for three seasons and only saw a couple umpiring controversies. Umpires make crummy calls no matter what level of play.

I would think most would not have a problem paying $75 a year for better shirts and umpires

There is nothing wrong with the shirts and hats we have now . I would pay a fee of 60 to 65 dollars to off set the cost of umpires and more use of Halfway park .

We could play double headers at Halfway like the church league does at the Fair grounds. I can't justify paying $5000. for umpires in a senior softball league.
